Ukrhydroenergo filed a lawsuit against the russian federation to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) regarding compensation for damages caused due to russia's unprovoked military aggression against Ukraine.

According to an independent expert assessment, the total amount of declared damages caused to the Company's assets - Kakhovskaya HPP and the unfinished wind power plant on Zmiiny Island - reached almost 17 billion UAH.

Thus, contrary to the international condemnation of the invasion of the russian federation into Ukraine and the demands of the international community to stop military operations, the russia continues to occupy the territory of Ukraine, destroy civilian infrastructure, and attack the civilian population. In this situation, will be unreal to expect for a fair consideration in the russian federation of a lawsuit for compensation for damage caused.

At the same time, the ECHR is an international structure that can proceed applications submitted by persons who complain about violation their rights.
